Foster Program

Why Foster?
Fostering a dog is one of the most impactful ways to help our rescue organization. By opening your home and heart to a dog in need, you provide a safe, loving environment where they can heal, grow, and thrive. Fostering not only prepares dogs for their forever homes but also helps reduce overcrowding in shelters, giving more dogs the chance to be rescued. The benefits of fostering extend beyond the dogs themselves, as it enriches the lives of foster families through companionship and the joy of making a difference.

Benefits of Fostering
  • Save Lives: Every dog you foster opens a space in our rescue for another dog to be saved.
  • Improve Adoptability: Foster dogs receive individualized care and attention, which helps them develop positive behaviors and increases their chances of being adopted.
  • Personal Fulfillment: Fostering brings immense satisfaction as you witness the transformation of a dog and know you played a crucial role in their journey to finding a forever home.
  • Community Support: Foster families become part of a compassionate community dedicated to helping animals in need.

Responsibilities of a Dog Foster
  • Provide Basic Care: This includes feeding, grooming, and exercising the dog.
  • Health Monitoring: Keep an eye on the dog’s health and well-being, administering medications if needed, and reporting any concerns to the rescue team.
  • Training and Socialization: Help the dog learn basic commands, manners, and social skills to prepare them for adoption.
  • Transport: Occasionally transport the dog to vet appointments, adoption events, or meet-and-greets with potential adopters.
  • Love and Patience: Offer a nurturing environment where the dog feels safe, loved, and supported.

Responsibilities of the Rescue Agency
  • Medical Care: Cover the costs of veterinary care, including routine check-ups, vaccinations, medications, and emergency treatments. We treat all pups in our care as we would our very own.
  • Training Resources: Offer guidance and training materials to help foster families address behavioral issues and training needs.
  • 24/7 Assistance: Maintain an open line of communication for any questions or concerns, offering support whenever needed.
  • Adoption Coordination: Handle all aspects of the adoption process, from screening potential adopters to arranging meet-and-greets and finalizing adoptions.

The Importance of Fostering

Fostering is the lifeblood of our rescue operation. It allows us to save more dogs from shelters and give them the individual care they need to thrive. Foster homes provide a critical bridge for dogs, offering them stability and support during their transition to adoption. This personalized care helps us better understand each dog's needs and personality, ensuring a more successful match with their forever families. By fostering, you become a vital part of our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs, creating a ripple effect of compassion and kindness in the community.
